That little yellow blur in the center is bjork.
Last night’s show was quite fantastic! I just wish I got closer seats. Sheesh! But they sold so fast! And I was online right on the dot. Oh well.
she played a terrific set. she played stuff from her new album — Earth Intruders, Wanderlust, Declare Independence. And quite a bit of older stuff — all remixed differently. Mark Bell was there. He remixes a lot of her work. Her older stuff included Unravel, Pluto, 5 Years, All is Full of Love, Army of Me, Hyperballad, Mother Heroic, Pagaen Poetry and some others… Hyperballad, Army of Me and Pluto were the best — very energetic remixes. Hoping to find those remixes somewhere.
the only thing that was kinda lame was the crowd. everyone kind of just stood there and stared. i guess that’s what happens in a large amphitheatre. also the sound was not nearly as good — being an outdoor concert. it should’ve been much louder.
if you ever get a chance to see her in concert — i would highly recommend it!
tonight’s a smorgasbjork!

Oh! I found out that Prince is playing the Orpheum theatre the same night! Damn it. Guess I’ll have to make a trip to vegas to watch him. Darn. :)

droppings… american idol edition.
“it’ll be down to lakisha and doolittle anyway, so they might as well stop”- one woman to another walking down 1st street towards market.
i have to agree. i think they’ve got the best voices. is it me or does this year’s american idol seem lackluster? the girls are much stronger than the boys this year. only the beatboxer from seattle is kinda good. we’ll see how it goes next week.
and to top it off who ever controls the audio for the show needs to be retrained or replaced. i know it’s hard to produce live television, but it’s awful. intros are cut off, the music drowns out the singers, and there’s such a big difference between the clip audio and the singing. i have to man my remote to adjust the audio as i watch.

pop goes my <3
last month we watched ”music & lyrics” — hugh grant and drew barrymore. i was pleasantly surprised. it was a pretty fun movie. the best of it were all the faux-80s songs they made for the movie. i was a nerd and it was the first album i bought on itunes for my new ipod. but cracks me up watching the video. i posted the video on my sidebar. enjoy.
you can also find it on your local youtube.

faith throws a fit.
on last night’s country music awards – new comer and american idol darling – carrie underwood, took home the female vocalist of the year award… much to the dismay of faith hill, who was also nominated. watch this clip from the awards.
maybe she should have taken a breath before reacting?
