Me and my grandpa

When they docked in San Francisco he logged 48000 miles on his ship. Crossing the equator 13 times. Bringing tanks to the next invasion and bringing POWs after being free from Bataan in the Philippines. He was off the shore of Japan watching kamakaze planes fly overhead aiming for the carriers to stop US planes from taking off. His ship tried to shoot them down before they could, while battle ships behind his blasted the mountain side. He watched when the flag was put up in Iwo Jima. One of the most famous photos of WWII.
